Alan W. Simonsen, born May 10th 1939 to Elmer & Nettie Simonsen, went home to be with Jesus on October 23rd 2012.
Alan’s wife, Janet L. (Casey) Simonsen, born January 15th 1942 to Herbert & Florence Casey, was promoted to Glory three days later on October 26th 2012.
The Simonsens were active members of the former Bethel Temple in downtown Seattle for many years. Alan played in the brass section of the church orchestra and also ministered on the pipe organ. Janet sang in Bethel’s Ladies Trio along with Gloria (Chilson) Mulkins, and Betty (Yeadon) Pilo.
Alan & Janet leave behind their two children, Erik A. Simonsen and his wife Jennifer; Julie S. Young and her husband Don; seven grandchildren: Josiah, Brett, Casey, Jeremiah, Rose, Emma & Sam. Siblings include: Carolyn Dickson, Gail Purdie (Don) & John Peterson (Judy), as well as  many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Alan & Janet’s children said, “Though our hearts grieve, we also rejoice in knowing that Dad and Mom are together in Heaven, free from everything that bound them here on earth. We love you both and await the day when we will all be together again.â€
