Bethel Fellowship International

Bethel Fellowship International (BFI) has received  some very old Bethel Temple radio broadcasts from some sixty years ago. They were submitted by Bob Reetz. Reetz said, “The broadcasts are from around 1954. There is singing and organ playing on different tracks, but I do not know who the performers are except that the radio broadcasts may identify the singers.” There is some audio disturbance in certain parts of the recordings, but it disappears very soon. Please enjoy taking a few minutes to travel back some sixty years into Old Bethel Temple’s Radio Broadcast.

1) In the first recording, Bethel Temple Pastor James M. Apple introduces W. H. Offiler who invites listeners to come out to Bethel Gospel Park at Mirror Lake (in Federal Way) for the annual Camp Meeting. You will enjoy hearing the quite unique voice of Bethel’s founder as he promotes the annual event.

2) The second recording has Brother Apple preaching like only he could. He speaks a powerful mini-message for a few minutes from Proverbs 20:9, “Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?” 

3) The third recording is about 17 minutes in length and includes several songs by Bethel Temple Radio Singers with organ and instrumental background music.

Pastor W. W. Patterson also promotes the daily Bethel Temple Bible School and the Monday night school. He also announces the Sunday services, which will surprise many of you. The church was busy with services and Bible studies from morning to late Sunday evenings. Lastly, Brother Patterson introduces Evangelist Fred Steinman who speaks for a very short time before the audio ends.

(Side note: Brother Apple once said, “Treat your wives like thoroughbreds and they won’t NAG.”)

1946 book by Bethel Temple founder now available here in PDF format

Many, many months in the reformatting process, Bethel Temple’s founder W. H. Offiler’s 200-page book GOD AND HIS BIBLE or the HARMONIES OF DIVINE REVELATION is now available in an easier-to-read, twice-the-size online BFI publication.

The book can be considered a course of Bible study and is the result of more than fifty years of deep, intense study of the Word of God by Pastor Offiler. Brother Offiler says in his preface of the book that “It is the result not only of much meditation and holy thought, but of fasting and prayer in waiting on God.”

Written more than 65 years ago, the book is as though it were written today. Offiler goes on to say, “The age draws to its close, the ‘time of the end’ is upon us. If ever we needed to know and understand the Word of God, it is NOW. The consummation is at hand, the Book must be opened, as its seals are broken. The church must know the eternal truth that has been written as its fulfillments burst upon us. The time is at hand. Study the Word of God.” The book is forwarded by a word from former Bethel Temple missionary to Indonesia and pastor W. W. Patterson.

In September 2003, Seattle’s Bethel Temple merged with The City Church in Kirkland, Washington. A special commemoration service for Bethel Temple was held at The City Church’s Belltown Campus eight months later on June 13, 2004. The almost two-hour video presentation of this memorable event is now made available here.

Many well-known men of God shared in detail the history and development of the former Bethel Temple pioneered by W. H. Offiler. Some of those who spoke in the service  that night have gone on to be with the Lord, including The City Church pioneer-pastor Wendall Smith, former Bethel Temple missionary to Indonesia Marian Patterson-Brodland, and a former Bethel Temple pastor C. J. McKnight.
